1. Germany: Bochum
2. France: Ales, Douai, Nancy, Nantes, París and Saint Etienne
3. Italy: Torino
4. Spain: Madrid and Oviedo

On an annual basis, it gathers around 100 students from each participant School, which raises the total number up to a thousand. These figures provide a very good idea of the size of the event.

There are several different sports, some of them compulsory, and the others to be selected by the organising School. Some of the compulsory are listed below:

• Soccer (Male)
• Rugby (Male)
• Handball (Male)
• Basketball (Male & Female)
• Volleyball (Male & Female)
• Athletics (Male & Female)
• Swimming (Male & Female)

Some of the free sports chosen by the organising School in the last years have been: Chess, Triathlon, Petanque... The 1996 event took place in Nantes between April 23 and 27. Paris will host the 1997 edition, from April 16 to 20. Oviedo was very happy to receive more than 1000 students for the 1992 Cartel.
