3.2.2 How do I get license keys?

Separate license keys are available for server and writer software. The server license depends on the number of supported disks. The license key is bound to these capabilities and a host ID. The ID can also be the IP address. The host ID can be determined with the following commands:

OS

Command to determine host ID

Example

AIX

/bin/uname -m

002068919100

DEC UNIX

/sbin/ifconfig ln0
(IP address)

149.235.75.37

HP-UX

/bin/uname -i

2002844728

IRIX

/sbin/sysinfo -s

1762177042

Linux

/usr/bin/hostid

0xeb954d4b

NT

either the IP address in the result of `ipconfig' or the network adapter address, which can be determined by the last entry of the "Workstation active on" line of the result of net config workstation.

IP-Address:
149.235.75.37
Host ID:
00A024A25806

Solaris

5600fd76

The host ID also appears at the top of the file named logfile.txt in "Your key for a license order:".
If an NT host has more than one IP address or network adapter, any of the addresses can be used to obtain a valid license key. The NT host IDs can also be determined with the GUI by selecting [SERVICE]-LICENSE KEYS:
