1.3 iXOS-JUKEMAN -- an overview

iXOS-JUKEMAN is a file system with writer software for managing jukeboxes, drives, and recorders for optical disks. It provides straightforward and efficient access to optical storage devices with unrivaled performance and flexibility.
Simplicity
iXOS-JUKEMAN presents all available disks as a standard file system, completely hiding the jukeboxes. The UNIX version acts as a standard NFS file server; the NT version acts as a standard NT file system that can be shared across all available protocols. Users can access the disks as easily as they would access a shared hard disk. Version 2.3 also allows clients to concurrently write disks.
Efficiency
The file system server provides data and directory caching, and powerful device management and job scheduling features. As a result, iXOS-JUKEMAN provides the industry's highest performance - even under extremely high traffic.
In addition, iXOS-JUKEMAN's redundant disk management means you can count on quick response times with the added advantage of protection against hardware failure.
Flexibility
iXOS-JUKEMAN has been carefully designed to ensure support for a wide range of environments, including a range of mixed clients and network protocols.
iXOS-JUKEMAN is also highly customizable. For example, multiple views can be defined with different name formats and configurable subsets of visible disks.
